Inspiration Board: Yellow, Charcoal, and Off-white

When I first heard the idea of doing a charcoal grey, yellow and white wedding I immediately thought this wedding is going to be “different.” You know, different as in a challenging one, different as in well, weird. But after looking around for inspiration I am convinced! I could really only think: this is going to be unique! I love the fresh color palette, bold choice and modern twist this will add, especially with this wedding taking place in very traditional church setting. I searched my absolute favorite blog, Style Me Pretty for inspiration, afterall I may be helping to coordinate this one again. So here’s the inspiration:

I love that the bride wants to dress her lovely ladies in a charcoal, steely gray tone, and with accents of white and yellow it will be a beautiful backdrop for her gorgeous Maggie Sotero gown. Because it’s going to be a very formal, traditional ceremony it’s important to have fun at the reception. I would love to see bright yellow cupcakes for the guests, beautiful framed family photos on the guest sign in table, and of course some cute yellow party shoes for dancing! Oh and I just love the yellow pom poms instead of flowers (a.k.a “chair charms”) because it’s very cost-effective and fun. This would be a cute addition to the reception hall or definitely just the cocktail hour seating. Layering in the green and white florals will be beautiful in the bouquets, especially with a full, yellow and white bouquet for the bride. Staying away from the yellow roses on this bouquet was a GREAT choice – yellow roses can be an obvious choice but we’re not about obvious are we? And  this invitation from Carlson Craft with light yellow letterpress floral design and thermography printing certainly conveys that it’s a summer wedding with a touch of formality.

I am excited to work on this one, and can’t wait to see this wedding come to life! Just proves, unexpected color combos work beautifully!
